How Steam Works
Steam Multimedia likes to keep things open, clear and simple so our clients always know what is going on and what all the costs are. As part of our roadmap for website products we have five simple stages that take you from talking about the website all the way through to launching the live website.
Stage 1 - Consult
Stage 1 is the initial consultation with Steam Multimedia and we discover exactly what your needs are and what you would like within your website. We will also look at your budget, what you would like to spend on your website and how we can maximise the features whilst keeping costs on target. Steam Multimedia tailors your website to your budget.
Stage 2 - Design
At Stage 2, Steam Multimedia takes all your ideas and needs collected from the initial consultation and puts them down on paper. We then get to work on the beginnings of the design of your website. Once this work is completed, the site is temporarily hosted in our test area to let you see the work done and the ideas that we have come up with. The stage has a lot of room for iterative design whereby changes are made to the website as they are communicated. Once you are happy with the website we then progress onto Stage 3.
Stage 3 - Develop
Stage 3 is where the hard work takes place. Steam Multimedia builds the website to a fully functional prototype which is then updated and placed in our test area for you to see and play around with. This allows you to get a good feel for how your website will work. Once you are happy with the website, the features within it and is running at its best, we then progress onto Stage 4.
Stage 4 - Launch
Once we enter Stage 4, your website is launched on to the Internet using your own hosting area and is publicly available for all to see. Once your website is live and running smoothly with of the final content, it is important to keep it up to date and fresh. This takes us on to Stage 5.
Stage 5 - Maintain
The final step for a website is to keep it maintained since the copy and images on the website can become old and dated. There may also be various features or additional content that you would like to add to the website at a later date or perhaps you want to mention on the website a forthcoming sale. Keeping the website well maintained and the content fresh is a very important part of a solid web presence.
